What Repetition Cannot Guarantee

Continuity is a claim that must remain open to testing against later records, including evidence of revision, discontinuity, or inconsistency. The value of an archive is not that it proves a self, but that it gives future examination something precise enough to confirm, challenge, or reinterpret.”
